DEATHGAZE is a Japanese hard rock and metal band in the visual-kei scene. Hailing from Nagoya and considered as Nagoya-kei, DEATHGAZE was formed in July 2003 by vocalist Hazuki, guitarist Kanna, bassist Ai and drummer Naoki. On 24.04.2004 Hazuki left DEATHGAZE and decided to create his own band - "lynch.". In September 2004, Kanna left the band to play with "PuppetMammy" and then with "Holic". Next month, in October, Sou and Naoto joined the band. In the fall 2006 vocalist Sou decided to leave the band to get married, leaving DEATHGAZE without a frontman once again. The band finished what concerts they had planned without a vocalist, and announced a hiatus in March 2007. After a hiatus, DEATHGAZE's main composer and bassist Ai, took over vocals and bass. The group made a tour with ギルガメッシュ (girugämesh) called “Girugaze&Deathgamesh”. This new line-up change was met with the capitalization of the band's name and the release of three singles in consecutive months, starting in January 2008. On March 2008, DEATHGAZE have a new member - Kousuke (on bass). On the live at Takadanobaba AREA on 26.04.2008, Naoto left DEATHGAZE. A support guitarist, newcommer Takaki, took Naoto's place in June 2009. He became an official member at their live at Osaka RUIDO on December 5th, 2009.
