Acid Black Cherry is the solo project of Yasu, vocalist of the J-rock band Janne Da Arc (currently on hiatus), launched in 2007.
For this project Yasu has partnered with Schuse (ex. la'cryma Christi) on bass guitar, Yuki (ex-/ \ ucifer), Akihide (BREAKERZ), Chisato (PENICILLIN) and Jun-ji (ex-SIAM SHADE) on drums. The first single - SPELL MAGIC was released on 18.07.2007. On 20.01.2008 was released the long anticipated debut album Black List, followed by a national tour. Acid Black Cherry’s second album Q.E.D. was released on 26.08.2009, and the tour took place between 16 September and 2 November. Single "Pistol" was released on 21.09.2011. After that released singles, "Shangri-La" 19.09.2011, "Chou" 16.11.2011, "Crisis" 21.12.2011 and "Yes" 8.01.2012. "Yes" become most successful. Acid Black Cherry’s third album 2012 was released on 21.03.2012. In 2012 went to the top of the Oricon weekly album chart with 117,744 copies sold in the first week and has sold over 160,000 copies so far. 2012 is also a theme-based album that embodies the beliefs that Acid Black Cherry has consistently sung about since it began. Following the release of the album their 2012 tour began on 01.05 with 22 performances scheduled for 21 locations nationwide.
