He is gaining recognition around the world for his unconventional style of playing the electric guitar, not with a pick, but with his fingers and his original slap style which is like no other. MIYAVI has 3 successful world tours under his belt, which totals over 150 shows in 30 countries across North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. His latest album "What's My Name?", released October 2010, is an innovative album consisting of songs traversing genres of rock, punk, hiphop, and dance, all composed with only the guitar and drums. From October 2011, MIYAVI started a collaboration project "SAMURAI SESSION WORLD SERIES" which features distinguished "Samurai" artists from all genres. The first release of these collaborations was "STRONG", with KREVA, an undisputed hiphop artist in Japan. In the recent years, MIYAVI has gathered attention from other artists and creators in the field and has produced music for television commercials such as UNIQLO, Toshiba, and Nissan Motors. He has also been featured in songs with Tomoyasu Hotei, Maki Nomiya, STUDIO APARTMENT, Yoko Kanno, Anna Tsuchiya, and Good Charlotte, rapidly spreading his circle of activities. MIYAVI is an unstoppable "SAMURAI GUITARIST", continuously reaching higher.
