PLUNKLOCK was formed in November 2010 when four young musicians decided to create a band that can inspire the world. Their initial plan was to work in a very limited type of music. However, this changed when Halo (Vocal) and Haruka (Bass) joined the band. They all wanted to do something different from each of their previous bands and decided to create a band that can inspire the world. The origin of band name derives from the combination of sounds that each of the four member plays, weave, and strum (PLUNK) thus their music became the key to open the LOCK to new doors. With pre-established harmony (PLAN), they create music that cannot be waivered by the passing of time (CLOCK). All these concepts were intertwined to create this new word “PLUNKLOCK.” The characteristics of PLUNKLOCK` s music are its aggressive instrumentals and a steady line of melody. Despite their different musical backgrounds, all of the members agree that even if orchestration is playful, the basic melody should be pop. Their music take the good parts of various kinds of music, such as kayokyoku (popular Japanese music), pops, rock, mixture, loud, and metal, in a well balanced manner. PLUNKLOCK thinks that the future holds more importance in visuals rather than just simple audio. Soon after their first live in March 2011, they released two singles “Teardrop” and “Breakout” followed by an impressive number of lives in Japan, bringing them into attention of more and more fans, magazines and music specialists. With this they attracted the attention of the European public. And so in early 2012 they made their first European tour with Kanzen Music. They capture the fans not only with the performance on stage but with the attitude to them. Returning to Japan, they released their first mini-album "GradatioN", followed by the single"World is mine.".

Halo is the main songwriter for PLUNKLOCK and the one in charge with the promotions, management and product planning. He was scouted by his high school due to the performance in volleyball and baseball, fact that helped him to realize his talent and to win the volleyball Kanto tournament. During the college years, he was the Student Council`s president and had several jobs. His favourite phrase is „ A band is a business enterprise! „. Halo`s life experience has been completed both inside and outside of the vkei system, his final goal being the world domination, which proves that he is a „中二病[chunibyou] ” (also known as the „teenage syndrome” - something that a teenager would do in order to try to surpass anybody else). This is also reflected in his lyrics that tend to depict the contradiction of positive emotions supported by a strong and a depressed outlook about life. Halo`s interest in vkei world began when he started listening to MALICE MIZER and Dir En Grey , but his musical influences are also including Gackt, Takanori Nichikawa, hyde, Daisuke and Takuya∞. His hobbies are art, reading and escaping from reality.

Kazuki is the main composer for the band. He gradually got to know the musical preferences and techniques of each member, so that when he is composing, his work is based on all these factors. He likes emotional music. Kazuki is thought to be a goofy, mysterious and strange person. After seeing hide singing and playing guitar, Kazuki strongly aspired to become like him, so he started learning guitar. As time passed, composing has become his hobby. During his activity as a member of the band „Monokuro Kinema” (2007-2010), Kazuki has gained experience by studying with MERRY. Their collaboration didn't stop, so that he's still being adviced by them about composing and band management. Kazuki is not only a great audience entertainer, he is also a self-entertainer.
Haruka is being motivated by his strong wish of becoming active overseas. Metallica is the band that had strong impact on him, so that he got very much into American and European rock music. Haruka`s musical influences are groove metal, rap rock, NuMetal from 90`s to present such as FIELDY (KORN), TIM COMMERFORD (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE), P NUT (311), STUART ZENDER (Jamiroquai) and more. He is the only member in the band that doesn`t have any vkei influence. His past activity included supporting various bands, fact that led to his meeting with the current PLUNKLOCK members. Haruka`s original style of deep bass provides the unique style of PLUNKLOCK`s music, one of the main pillars of its base.

Pinky is PLUNKLOCK`s leader, also in charge with manufacturing and editing Plunklock`s released products and other special goods- „major goods manufacturing director”. His hobbies are music, snowboarding and cars ( he even got his mechanical license). Some fans are calling him „the comedian” due to his cheerful personality. He is always conferring happiness and enthusiasm to the audience with his permanent smile. After listening to X Japan in the middle school, he quickly became deeply interested in bands and vkei world. Pinky`s musical influences are pretty various, so that he is also listening to R&B, hip-hop and raggae. He has gained experience as a roadie for Jully and heidi., during his activity as a member of the band called Hacchi (August 2003- August 2009). Currently, Pinky is also a member of Ninjaman Japan band, along with PLUNKLOCK.
